Terms and Conditions for Doorknock
These terms and conditions outline how Doorknock operates, and what you can expect when using our website and services. We recommend reading these carefully before using Doorknock. By using our website and services, you agree to these terms.

Overview of the Service:
Doorknock is here to connect eager home buyers with homeowners who might be open to selling. We're a platform that facilitates introductions but please note, we're not involved in the sale process or any negotiations. Think of us as the friendly matchmaker, and the rest is up to you and the homeowner.

Impartial Third Party:
As an impartial third party, Doorknock has no influence over the decisions or actions of homeowners or potential buyers. Our role is purely to make the introductions; we're not liable for what happens after, be it outcomes, motives, or actions taken by either party.

Information Accuracy:
We do our best to match buyers with the right properties using top-tier databases, but we can't guarantee 100% accuracy. The property information we share might not always reflect the most recent updates or images. So, while we strive for accuracy, there may be times when third-party data is incomplete or out of date.

Contact Information Disclosure:
Your personal details (name, email, and phone number) will only be shared with the agent if a homeowner shows interest in selling. Up until that point, your information is safely tucked away and private.

Agent Responsibilities:
Our agents have one primary goal: to hand-deliver each Doorknock to the front door, ideally having a conversation with the homeowner to explore the possibility of a sale. If no one is home, the agent will leave the Doorknock hanging from the front doorknob. If that's not possible, it will be left in the letterbox. Agents will always put their best foot forward to start the conversation and open up the possibility of a sale.

Response Guarantee:
We connect you with property owners, but we can't promise that every homeowner will respond. Keep this in mind when sending out your Doorknocks. Patience is key!

Service Guarantee:
Doorknock operates on an ‘as is’ basis. While we carefully vet our local agents to ensure they follow privacy standards and comply with the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 (REAA 2008), we do not provide guarantees beyond this. Agents will do their best to deliver the Doorknocks, but as mentioned, some situations may prevent that (see below under Safety and Delivery).

Agent Agreement:
Doorknock connects house hunters and homeowners for smooth, off-market sales without marketing costs or hassles. The agent who delivers the Doorknock is there to help both parties through this process. If a house hunter prefers to bring their own agent for support, the original delivery agent will shift to representing just the house hunter, and a commission split will apply between the agents. While Doorknock facilitates the connection, we don't influence the sales method, commission agreements, or the process—that's handled by the agents. Homeowners can choose their own agent if they decide to list publicly, and house hunters can work with any agent for future sales.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Once payment is made, we'll begin the property search. You can cancel and request a refund before the Doorknocks are sent to the agent for delivery, but not afterward. We will refund any Doorknocks that are not delivered due to failure on our part or the agent's part. However, refunds will not be issued for Doorknocks that could not be delivered for safety reasons, as outlined in other sections of these terms.

Safety and Delivery:
Our agents' safety comes first. If an agent feels unsafe or it's not appropriate to deliver a Doorknock in person, they won't complete the delivery. We do ask that they leave the Doorknock in the letterbox at the very least, but again, safety is the priority. If it's not possible to deliver the Doorknock at all, no refunds will be issued, as we trust our agents' judgement.

Limitation of Liability:
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Doorknock isn't liable for any direct or indirect damages arising out of or in connection with using our services. This includes things like loss of profits, missed opportunities, or any other intangible losses. We're here to connect you, but the responsibility for what happens after rests with the buyers, homeowners, and agents.

ndemnification:
You agree to hold Doorknock, our team, and any affiliated agents harmless from any claims or liabilities arising from your use of the service. If a dispute comes up between you and a homeowner (or anyone else), you won't hold us responsible.

Force Majeure:
Sometimes life throws unexpected things at us—natural disasters, pandemics, or other major events. In cases like that, if we're unable to perform our obligations, we won't be held liable.

Data Protection:
Your privacy matters to us. We follow relevant data protection laws, and you can read all the details on how we handle your information in our Privacy Policy.

Dispute Resolution:
If any issues arise, we encourage everyone to first try resolving things informally. If that doesn't work, disputes will be settled in accordance with New Zealand law, either through binding arbitration or the appropriate courts.

User Warranties:
By using Doorknock, you're confirming that any information you provide is accurate and truthful. You also agree to maintain the confidentiality of your account and take responsibility for any actions that occur under it.

Intellectual Property:
Everything you see on the Doorknock website—logos, designs, text—is our property. You're welcome to enjoy it and use the service, but please don't reproduce or use our content without our permission.

Complaints and Issue Resolution:
At Doorknock, we take any concerns regarding agent deliveries seriously and aim to resolve issues promptly and fairly.

• Reporting an Issue: If you experience any problems with the delivery of your Doorknock, please contact us through the ‘Contact Us’ section on our website. We encourage you to report issues as soon as possible.
Review Process: Upon receiving your complaint, we will review the details, including contacting the agent involved if necessary. Our goal is to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of both parties.
• Resolution: We will make reasonable efforts to address your concerns. If corrective actions are needed, we will ensure that appropriate steps are taken to improve the process.
• Escalation:
In cases where the issue cannot be resolved or if there is a serious breach of our policies, we may take further action, which could include guidance for the agent or discontinuing their services.
• User Privacy:
We handle all complaints confidentially and with respect to user privacy.


Agreement and use of our service:
By using Doorknock, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you're not on board, please refrain from using our services. We're here to make things as smooth as possible, and we hope these terms outline everything clearly for a successful experience.
