We envision a New Zealand where every Kiwi can find and own a home they truly love.
A future where buyers aren’t just waiting for listings - but have access to proactive strategies that give them the first-mover advantage.
Why are we doing this?
Because we believe good things happen when Kiwis are connected.
Back in 2014, Tim (our founder) and his friend were searching for a home. They downloaded all the apps, attended every open home, and threw themselves into the process. But along the way, Tim discovered something unsettling…
Many property investors had a hidden advantage - a team of local agents feeding them the best opportunities before homes even hit the market. The system favoured those already established in the game, leaving everyday buyers at a disadvantage. Tim didn’t think that was fair. He believed every Kiwi should have the same proactive edge.
So, Doorknock was born. Inspired by a time-tested approach (your grandma probably bought a house this way), we modernised the process - helping buyers connect directly with homeowners before properties go public.
Since 2017, our services have evolved, but our vision remains the same: lean into the human experience of property, be proactive, and create opportunities before they hit the market.
