Costs

How much does it cost to Doorknock?

We offer three packages for Doorknock:
• 20 Doorknocks for $65 + GST
• 50 Doorknocks for $110 + GST
• 100 Doorknocks for $180 + GST

These fees cover the cost of the door-hangers, printing, assembly, dispatch and courier fees. Once you select a package and confirm your order, we'll send you an invoice through Xero. Payment must be completed before we begin the property search.

How can I pay for my Doorknock messages?

Can I customise my Doorknock message?

Currently, Doorknocks include a specialised letter from Tim, our founder. This letter is designed to be engaging and effective in generating responses. Personalised letters are not available at this time.
Though, if you are wanting to send over 100 Doorknocks with a custom letter, reach out to us via the Contact Us form, and we can work something out. 



How does Doorknock handle privacy?

Your contact details are kept private until a homeowner shows interest. The agent who delivers your Doorknock will only receive your information if the homeowner wants to discuss a potential sale. Otherwise your details remain private with us.

How many Doorknock messages can I send?

You can choose from our packages: 20, 50, or 100 Doorknocks. If you want to send more than 100, please contact us for a custom quote - larger orders are possible.

Doorknock Delivery

When will my Doorknock message be delivered?

Doorknocks are typically delivered within 2 to 4 weeks. This time-frame includes processing, printing, and coordinating with agents, especially in remote areas. Agents often return to deliver a Doorknock at a later time if the homeowner is not available, or some leave the Doorknock on the front doorknob (or letterbox).

What if the homeowner is not at home during the delivery?

If the homeowner isn’t home, the agent will attempt another delivery or leave the Doorknock on the front doorknob. If this is not possible, it will be left in a secure location, such as the mailbox or under the mat at the front door. Our goal is to ensure your message reaches the homeowner.


Can I track the status of my Doorknocks?

We provide delivery updates through a shared platform where the agent logs their progress, notes, and any notable opportunities. Each house hunter is added to this list for real-time updates. If you have specific questions or need more details, feel free to contact us anytime.

How are Doorknock agents selected?

We carefully vet our agents for honesty, reliability and frankly... being a kind person. We also consider their professionalism, sales record and suitability for delivering your Doorknocks. Each agent signs a Doorknock Agent Policy and Code of Conduct document as part of their onboarding.

Can the agent read my letter or access my information?

No, the agent cannot read the Doorknock letter. And if they did manage to see inside it, your contact details are not included in the letter, meaning they have no way of knowing your identify or contacting you. They only get your details if the homeowner shows interest in selling, at which point we will share your information with the agent to facilitate the sale.

Am I required to use the real estate agent who delivers my Doorknock?

Yes, if the homeowner decides to proceed with a sale based on your Doorknock, they will sign an agency agreement with the agent who delivered it, meaning this agent will be involved in the sale. You can choose to involve your own agent to represent you in the negotiation, in which case the commission will be split between the agents. If the homeowner decides not to sell or chooses to list publicly, they can use any agent they prefer, and you’re free to enlist any agent of your choice for other transactions.

How does Doorknock find homes that match my criteria?

You provide us with details about your ideal home. We use this information to identify off-market properties (ones that are not currently listed for sale) that match your criteria by consulting New Zealand's leading property and housing information databases and resources. We then compile a list of these properties, to the volume you specified, and have the Doorknocks hand-delivered to each address by a local agent.

What should I include in my search criteria?

In your your search criteria, provide details such as the number of bedrooms, desired location, price range, and any specific features you’re looking for. Some people want a pool, a granny flat, or a large yard for their dog. Include your entire wish list, and we'll do what we can to find homes that match.


What if the homeowner does not want to sell their property?

If a homeowner isn’t interested in selling, there’s no obligation for them to respond. We encourage them to let you know either way. If they decide to stay put, you’re still in line for future opportunities and can continue your search for the perfect home.

Great! The owner is interested in selling... but how do I buy it?

If a homeowner expresses interest in selling their property, they will notify the agent who delivered your Doorknock. We will then provide your contact information to this agent, who will reach out to you directly to start discussions and explore an off-market sale. The agent will handle negotiations and oversee the process to ensure everything runs smoothly.

If you prefer to involve your own agent or representative, you are welcome to do so. This will result in a split fee commission between the agents. However, if the sale proceeds, the delivery agent must be included in the transaction. If the homeowner decides not to sell or lists their home publicly, they can choose any agent they like.
